Create clear and convincing internal communications, strategic plans, research reports and other boardroom-style slides.
Slide Title
The most important part of every slide is the slide title. No matter how incoherent your slide is, no matter how cluttered with arrows and bullet points and clip art, if the reader can understand the slide title, they can understand the point you are trying to make on the slide.
Even more important, when you write out the slide title, you know what you’re trying to say on the slide.
Write out the slide title as a full sentence. If necessary, write out a sub-title in 12-point font that describes the main point of the slide in several full sentences. Avoid vague category titles like “Market Segments” or “Strategic Priorities”. Be more specific. What about the market segments? What about the strategic priorities? You may find you actually don’t know what you’re trying to say.
In that case, it’s a sure bet your reader won’t know either.
