Welcome to
Speaking PowerPoint Training
Hello! I’m Bruce Gabrielle, your instructor and author of Speaking PowerPoint: the New Language of Business. I look forward to meeting you for Speaking PowerPoint training.
Speaking PowerPoint is for smart business professionals who have a hard time getting their great ideas onto PowerPoint slides. Instead, their slides are overwhelming, hard to understand, hard to present and even amateurish-looking. If your ideas are unclear and sloppy looking, that can hurt your project, your image and ultimately your career progress.
In this training, we’ll learn a 12-step framework for building clearer, more persuasive and more professional looking PowerPoint slides for business presentations – and in half the time! By the end of the workshop, you will know how to:
- Structure your entire presentation, including developing a key message, supporting storyline and how to brainstorm and sequence your content to engage and persuade.
- Develop a clear and persuasive slide using the slide title, the right mix of text and pictures, and techniques to recognize and avoid overwhelming your audience even when your content is complex.
- Use design principles like color, layout and slide aesthetics to enhance your credibility, emphasize your key message and increase your ability to persuade.
- Design graphs and tables that tell a story instead of overwhelming with data
There is no pre-work required, but on the day of the training please:
- Bring your laptop – we’ll be re-working YOUR PowerPoint slides during the workshop
- Think of a slide you’d like to re-do during the workshop. It should be 1) relatively complex (simple slides are too easy to fix) and 2) have no animation (because others will be evaluating it and if they have to click-through something will get messed up for the next person).
